The 3rd Pan African Mosquito Control Association Conference

PAMCA’s 2nd Annual Conference took place at the Dar es Salaam International Conference Center, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania between the 6-8 October 2015.
The conference built on the success of the inaugural conference held in Kenya the previous year, this time attracting participants from a greater number of countries and disciplines.
The conference attracted over 130 participants from Africa, Asia, Europe and America and provided a unique African led platform for academics, industry professionals, governmental and non-governmental to connect, share information and identify potential solutions to some of the challenges that are a barrier to effective vector control in Africa.
The conference was a mixture of plenary sessions, symposia and interactive sessions – allowing participants to engage with speakers and facilitators. Participants had a chance to contribute to the future strategic development of PAMCA through breakout sessions on strategic planning and capacity building. Idea’s gathered are currently fed into the strategic planning process and will be presented to members at the next conference. Plans are underway for the 3rd Annual conference which will take place at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria on the 6th – 9th September 2016. Details will be advertised on the website shortly. For more detail of the 2nd annual conference, please see our newsletter.
